In the present age, most giants in the political field
of the world are from the big and power countries, only a few but great
men of time are from weak and small countries, Sihanouk, King of the
country of millions population is such man. Eighty years old, King Sihanouk
is the old friend well know and respect of Chinese people, king famous
in the world, Buddhism, Gifted scholar and politician. Nineteen years
old, he set up the kingship, till now managed the state affairs for
61 years. For the independence of Cambodia such small country no leech
on to other power countries, he went up and down in the political field
and into exile overseas many times, through the adversity, humiliation,
sorriness, many difficulties and never disheartened so that he is widely
loved by people of Cambodia and respected in the world. He is a great
patriot prior to a king. He is only one alive of five founders of Nonalignment
Movement and last one still in reign right now. A French journalist
commented him: "he is so representative of his country that he
combined his own destiny to that of the country, no any other king like
him in the 20 century. He wrote in the preface of his book "the
leaders in the world I affiliated with " This book is consecrated
to the people of Cabomdia who unremitting struggled for the freedom
and the independence, through numerous calamities and never disheartened.
"It is not hard for all people who knows in some sort King Sihanouk
to find out this is in fact the battle cry from his heart. In despite
of the hurly in the world submerged many fighters dedicated to the independence
of the nation, but the history already stamped him in the heart of the
people. Incase that world -famous Angkor temple is the record of the
great exploit of the Second "SULIYEBAMO", the ancestor king
of the dynasty Angkor, well then the Monument of the Independence lift
in Phnom Penh is the record of Sihanouk live in struggle for the independence
of the nation.
