My
German philatelic friend-007 |
A valuable FDC
from Liechtenstein |
On May 25,2005, I received a mail from Mr.Chilian. The mail is not same with usual. I carefully look at the mail, it used the stamps with Chinese painting and Chinese character, oh! this is a FDC from Liechtenstein with the stamps join issued by China and Liechtenstein. |
|
|
Because I am very busy at present for my other music web site ("I love Ennio Morricone"), and my ages, energy all are limited, so I have to stopped to collect new philatelic item in the main from last year. Therefore I haven't known the information about the stamp join issued by China and Liechtenstein! I look at the information in the network at once, below is its information |
|
Paintings
(Jointly Issued by China and Liechtenstein)
--- Special Stamps |
|
Date of issue:
18th May, 2005 |
On l8 May 2005, the State
Post Bureau issued a two-piece set of special stamps,
"Paintings" with a total face value of l.60
yuan. The pictures on the stamps are:"Magnolia Flowers"
and "Flower Vase in a Window Niche", respectively. |
The paintings Magnolia Flowers
and Flower Vase in a window Niche, both from the 17th
century, are in the Palace Museum of China and the Liechtenstein
Museum respectively. Mognolia Flowers is a representative
work of Chen Hongshou, a Ming-dynasty artist in China,
in his later life, which features neat and ingenuous strokes,
talented composition and bright colors. Flower Vase in
a Window Niche by Ambrosius Bosschaert, a well-known still-life
painter from Europe, shows flowers of different seasons
in full blossom. He displayed the ideal condition of flowers
and opened a new era of paintings of flowers and plants.
The two paintings used in the stamp design, which are
both rare cultural treasures, show the different traditions
and cultures of the Eastern and Western civilizations. |
China National Philatelic
Corporation will release two FDCs. |

I checked the date in the postmark, it
do is May 18,2005! The posted city is VADUZ, and I turn over
the envelop, there is a destination postmark of Nanjing China, its
date is May 25. This is a really mailed FDC with the stamps join issued by nations. Many thanks dear friend
Chilian, You help me to achieve a desire of many years--Get a mailed
FDC posted from other country of join issued countries. (See
here-- My first mailed FDC with the stamps join issued by China
and other country posted from China) |
|
This FDC will be a extremely valuable
philatelic item for China and Chinese. Why? Please see below information
about Liechtenstein : |
Location: Central Europe, between Austria and Switzerland
Area: total: 160 sq km |
land: 160 sq km |
Land boundaries: total: 76 km |
Population: 32,528 (July 2001 est.) |
Tourism ,booked tourist 60390 in
1999 |

This is a small country, its population is only less
than 400 hundreds, the tourists in every day is average less than
200. You can reckon the number how many people bought the set of stamp
on May 18,2005, suppose it is 10% of the all population, so it just
is about 4000 persons. Then reckon how many persons mailed the FDC.
Suppose it is half! SO about 2000. How many countries in the world
are there? It is about 220 (include the regions), China only is one
of them. Suppose 2000/220, so it only is ten pieces! Now I have have
2 FDCs! |
|
Of cause, this only is a reckoning. But the date of May 18,2005 is surpass the past and future, it was gone forever! The entired FDC will be necessary for Chinese philatelists for collecting a series FDCs with join issued stamps by China and other countries. |
|
|
The most important things still is friendship. I
don't know when Mr.Chlian get the information about the stamp? I don't
know how mailed the FDC he is? I know his home is in Munchen, it is
about 200 KM distance from the Vaduz, it needs one day for drive to
the place and back. All these are his initiative action for a Chinese
friend! I will remember his friendly sentiments, a German for a Chinese,
as well is the friendship between people of countries. Wish the world
will become more happy and magnificent. |

A
note on June 13,2005 |
|
Today, Mr.Chilian sent an E-mail for
reply my problem about the FDC. His answer is: |
You
want to know how I was able to send it to you. Here is what I did:
I receive a catalog from the Liechtenstein PO every time they issue
a new stamp. This time I discovered this joint issue
I requested by mail to send you the FDC cover, added to my mail your
address label and hoped they would fulfill my special wish!! Much
to my surprise they did send it to you.
a few days after my order, they sent me other items, which I have
ordered. The invoice in EUROS was attached (the currency of Liechtenstein
is still the SWISS FRANK - not EURO) and I tranferred the money to
their account in Frankfurt.
|
|
Oh,Mr.Chlian has enjoyed so good service
about philately. It is pity there isn't so good service in China at
present. I still thank Mr.Chilian very much for he has did all try
hard for these valuable FDC. All he did are straight from his heart,
his friendship. I also hope more good philatelic service will appear
in China before long. |
